While the newer members won't know much about the place the majority of the old school players will remember some epic matches, victories and defeats. It's what we practiced hours for, perfecting nades, runs and strats to try and ensure the win.
We met some great players and clans during our competitive days and it kept a lot of us together for a long time, unfortunately the state of PC gaming for competitive purposes is nowhere near as good as it used to be and ultimately we all move on to newer pastures and different games.
Thanks to all who participated during our time at Edom, we had some great times there
Hello all.
After a struggle to keep EuroDomination running in the past 2 or 3 years, it is with a heavy heart that we are announcing our intent to close our doors for good on the
23rd May 2015. We are doing this for a couple of reasons, which I will summarize here.
Lack of new adminsWe have been been looking for new admins to replace admins that have left or that are currently inactive. Interest in the position however, has meant that we haven't been able to support CoD/FIFA/Hearthstone with cups and competitions (such as the RTV or some opening/winter cups). This has also meant that we haven't been able to even look at other games out and see whether we could support them.
Website DevelopmentAs most of you know, a website project that was in the works and progressing has had to be stopped due to the developer not having the time to complete it. Whilst we have tried to make subtle changes to this website in the hopes of improving it, it quite clearly shows its age and is not as slick and enticing as other websites that are out there.
Anti-CheatEnough said, we haven't got the resources to get one.
Current state of FPS games on PCI think you are all aware that all of the CoD games post CoD4 have presented numerous problems for us. The switch to VAC meant that our tools for combating cheats was made redundant and the lack of a demo system meant that accurately closing incidents was near impossible. The lack of mod support meant that we had to rely on clans self policing, which especially in MW2/3 was a personal nightmare. Whilst other leagues have moved away from CoD and focused games which a competitive scene can be forged (LoL, CS:GO, and even sticking with CoD4), we ultimately failed to do that, partially down to the reasons above.
Those are the primary reasons why we feel it is best to close EuroDomination for good. This will happen on the
23rd May 2015. We hope that you have enjoyed our ladders and competitions over the years (especially those that remember the battlemap and more recently, the RTVs). We would like to thank everyone for their support over the years, especially the current and former admins whose hard work meant that clans had some awesome competitions to play in and to those that have given us kind donations over the years.
Thanks for joining us during this ride!
